Graduate School
The Graduate School is the administrative unit overseeing 170 graduate programs of study at UW-Madison. Applicants and students must satisfy the requirements of both the Graduate School and the Entomology Department for admission, progress, and completion of degrees. Effective Fall 2014 the Graduate School has set new minimum graduate degree requirements for students which include a minimum of 30 credits to receive an MS degree and 51 credits to receive a PhD degree.

- 2025-26 Graduate Handbook Entomology MS & PhD (pdf), graduate program handbook for Entomology
- Ento Course Waiver Form (doc), used for requesting that prior coursework waive certain degree requirements
- Ento Course Substitution Form (doc), to be used to change a course on an already approved certification
- Ento External Committee Member Request Form (doc), to be used to approve a non-faculty member or a non-UW-Madison person for a committee
- Warrant Request form (online), please submit this form 5 weeks before your prelim exam or defense, this will trigger a check of your record for dissertator status or graduation
PhD Program
- Ento Annual Progress Report PhD (doc), required annually of all PhD students at UW-Madison
- Ento Mentorship Progress Report PhD (doc), part of the required Annual Progress Report process
