Butterflies Make Great Pollinators

Bees are often synonymous with pollination, but other insect groups have started to receive more attention for their pollination services. Dr. Karen Oberhauser was recently quoted in this article about the importance of butterflies as insect pollinators. A recent study found that butterflies and hover flies (Family Syrphidae) contribute a value of $120 million to the cotton crop in Texas each year!
