I’m from a rural town close to Mexico City. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Parasitology from Universidad Autonoma Chapingo and my Master’s degree in Entomology and Acarology from Colegio de Postgraduados (COLPOS). Throughout my academic journey, I have focused on studying mites (acari group) that affect important crops. After completing my postgraduate degree, I worked for the Department of Agriculture focusing on quarantine pests. Subsequently, I returned to COLPOS as a research assistant to further explore the study of mites. Currently, my interests center around understanding the role of genetic mechanisms in tick populations and their impact on vector-borne diseases, utilizing molecular and bioinformatic tools. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, jogging, painting, and sharing a cup of coffee with friends.
