Research interests:
I’m interested broadly in insect behavioral ecology and its underlying physiological mechanisms, applied to solve problems related to global change. I integrate learning and cognition, nutritional physiology, and thermal ecology to understand how beneficial insects such as pollinators respond to environmental stressors. My dissertation focused on the effects that agricultural fungicides can have on honey bee learning and foraging behavior. My current project as a postdoc focuses on how pollinators of spring-blooming fruit crops, such as apples, adapt to the variable weather conditions that can occur during this time.
