INSECT ECOLOGY 
3 credits; 3 lectures/wk; Fall semester, alternate (even-numbered) years.
ENT 342
Prereqs.: Entomol/Zool 302 or course in Zoology; Math 112 or equiv.
Description: 
Ecology of insects as individuals, populations, and components of communities and ecosystems. Emphasis on interactions of insects with their biotic and abiotic environment. 
ENT 630
ECOTOXICOLOGY: TOXICANT EFFECTS ON ECOSYSTEMS 
3 credits; 3 lectures/wk; Fall semester, alternate (odd-numbered) years; cross-listed with Agronomy, Env Tox and Wildl Ecol 630. Team taught (Karasov, Lindroth, Jefcoate).
Prereqs.: 
Two semesters introduction biology and one semester organic chemistry or consent of instructor.
Description: 
Study of how toxicants mediate interactions between organisms and their biotic and abiotic environments. Addresses biochemical and physiological mechanisms of toxicity; defenses against toxicants; population, community, ecosystems and evolutionary ecotoxicology; socio-economic impacts and current research.
