Research Interests:
Azeem’s research interests are:

  • Qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of small organic molecules from plants and microbes using GC-MS and HPLC-MS.
  • The use of plants secondary metabolites for ecological control of pest insects such as mosquitos, ticks, stored grain beetles and house flies.
  • Chemical diversity of aromatic plants growing in lower Himalaya region of Pakistan.
  • Biological activity guided separation and structure elucidation of natural products from plants and microbes.

Current Research Project:
The floral and leaf chemistry of Populus and Salix spp. in relation to gender dimorphism
